Oh no … I’m Illinoian!
Yes, as a relatively “new” person to the great State of Illinois, I could not resist putting that statement out there.
Well that — and given what my “early” birthday gift from Hubby was — it just fits to a tee (as in “tee-hee!”).

Oh yes, Hubby got me one of those really cool Flip video camcorders. One that I only recently thought would be cool to have. Because really, I’m all about capturing moments in time … but I’ve always been more of the photograph type of gal, rather than an “America’s Funniest Videos” type of gal.
Except now with this cool hand-held camcorder, I can record even the funniest verbal and visual moments in time. Which now means I can take my blogging to a whole new level.
And the best part of it is … I’m the one behind the camera instead. So I can start grilling poor Hubby nonstop.
Like today. We finally got a chance to do the whole Chicago Architecture Tour on the River. It’s something we’ve been wanting to do since doing the Frank Lloyd Wright walking tour a few years back. So today was the day that we planned on doing it. The river tour, I mean.
Yep, for Independence Day we thought it would be a fun thing to do. Be able to see the skyline of Chicago at a whole other level. Except it was cold. And raining.
And it was nothing like it was yesterday when we went to the beach. And swam. And got sunburned …
Well, let’s just see what Hubby had to say about it …
Okay. That’s enough for now. Just wanted to have a little fun with my new “toy.”

Sorry the architecture tour was sucky and cold and rainy. It still looks like you guys were just happy to be together anyway! I wanted to do that one when we were in Chicago, but we missed it somehow. Next time, right???

Jas and I just became legal guardians of a little boy in Ethiopia. NO KIDDING. We’re hoping to go pick him up on the 18th of June. NO KIDDING. He’s almost four months and as cute as can be. If you go to my blog, you can see a picture and a photo montage of him (you’ll have to scroll down a bit).
