Day Twenty – A Song I Listen To When I’m Angry:
Industrial Music is always great to listen to when you’re feeling angry.
Perhaps it’s the sound of the heavy guitar riffs. Or the deep beats of sequencers overlaid with the sounds from the synthesizer. Or it could, in certain songs, by the way that the vocals are screamed into the mike.
In any case, the Industrial sound is a great way to get your aggressions out. (It’s a perfect musical genre to use for a “workout” playlist!) In fact, I do recall blasting out Ministry’s “Thieves and Liars” at one time in high school when I was playing the “angry teenager” card with my parents.
But my all-time favorite “I’m-so-pissed-I-wanna-throw-something-out-of-a-moving car” song? Probably anything off of Nine Inch Nail’s “Pretty Hate Machine.”
BUT … if I had to pick one, I’d say that “Terrible Lie” is probably the “angriest” song on that album.
So this here’s a live version of the song … just for my dear Dr. SIL, who loves anything Trent Reznor!

What is with this 30-day song challenge?
What was yesterday‘s song?
I miss the days of ‘good’ industrial – a perfect blend of rock and synth and drum machines. I can’t stand what passes for industrial now – pure full-on screaming and speed without melody. I miss WaxTrax for sure. But I totally agree industrial is great anger music, that and some Misfits for me!
