Day Eight – A Song I know All the Words To:
This song was one of those great party songs … that turned into a song that was overplayed and well-hated. I blame it on the FIFA World Cup ’98 video game that Hubby played over and over again during the summer of 1998.
Day Seven – A Song That Reminds Me of a Certain Event:
It’s been more than 15 years now, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I got the call from Future Hubby at about 6:30 in the morning telling me that Future SIL’s water had just broken.
Wow, I remember thinking. This is the day that I will become an “Auntie Em” for the first time.

Day Six – A Song That Reminds Me of Somewhere:
There’s this highway that hugs the coast of the Pacific Ocean. And on this particular stretch of road, the sun reflects off the water in such a way that it reminds me of all things right in the world.
Day Five – A Song That Reminds Me of Someone:
I credit my parents with introducing me to music. As far back as I can remember we’ve always had some sort of music playing in the background; whether it be the radio on trips to London, Ontario or 8-track tapes on the way down to Florida. Or even at home, listening to the crackle of vinyl on our ancient belt-driven turntable.
Day Four – A Song That Makes Me Sad:
This is a difficult one for me to write about. Not that I didn’t know what song I was going to use for this day. It’s more because “Brick” by Ben Folds Five, written and released back in 1997, disturbs me even to this day.
The song itself is haunting; the piano is beautiful yet sad. But it’s the lyrics to the song that get me every time.
