A Song That Reminds Me of Somewhere

Day Six – A Song That Reminds Me of Somewhere:

There’s this highway that hugs the coast of the Pacific Ocean. And on this particular stretch of road, the sun reflects off the water in such a way that it reminds me of all things right in the world.

Hubby & I drove this stretch of highway several times during the first 10 days of our marriage. With the convertible top down and the wind off the west coast of Maui, the drive just screamed of “Paradise.”

During one of the first drives down the Honoapiilani Highway, this particular song came on the radio. So now every time I hear Oasis’ “Champagne Supernova” … especially the sounds of waves heard in the intro of the song … I think of my honeymoon in Hawaii and those first days of absolute wedded bliss.

And whenever I hear this song, I’m reminded of the days before living with infertility … of the times where living without children wasn’t (too badly) frowned upon. I’m reminded of when Hubby & I had our entire lives stretched out in front of us.
